Microneedling
Microneedling, also known as “collagen induction therapy,” is a minimally invasive procedure that uses thin needles to create microchannels in the top layer of your skin. These tiny microchannels help stimulate your skin’s natural healing process, increasing production of collagen and elastin. These proteins keep your skin firm and smooth, and allow serums to penetrate into deeper tissues by 2000%. Microneedling is a popular natural beauty trend, creating smooth, glowing skin without the pain or downtime of more aggressive procedures.
Scientific research shows microneedling has the ability to tighten and firm lax skin, reduce wrinkles and pores, improve skin texture and even out skin tone.

Nano-needling
This gentler-than-micro-needling add-on treatment is non-invasive and highly effective as it stimulates collagen and elastin production and increases uptake of serums by 95%. The insertion of multiple fine needles using a medical device penetrate the skin to treat wrinkles, fine lines, scaring, hyperpigmentation, stimulate hair growth and acne. Nano-needling is a safe alternative for pregnant patients.

FAQs
What should I expect at my Microneedling visit?
Arrive at your appointment with a clean, make-up free face. I will apply a numbing cream to your face and apply some acupuncture body points for your overall well-being. After removing the numbing cream, I will apply hyaluronic acid with a fan brush to the areas being microneedled. I will apply a microneedling pen to your neck and face for about 15 minutes. Once completed, I will apply a phytostem cell serum, peptide eye cream and mist to your face.
Is Microneedling painful?
Certain areas of the face can be a little spicy but the numbing cream can help with this. Adjustments to the settings can increase or decrease the depth, ensuring patient comfort. The face may feel “hot” immediately after treatment.
What does Microneedling aftercare look like?
Avoid washing your face for the first 24 hours after treatment. To hydrate the skin, apply more hyaluronic acid as needed. Apply with damp hands and press onto the treated areas. Avoid the sun, make-up, heavy sweating or swimming during that initial 24 hours. Continue your regular skin care regimen after that, using a gentle cleanser and moisturizer, avoiding any Retinoid products, peels or other exfoliating applications for at least 1 week.
How many treatments will it take to start seeing a difference? How often do I need to get Microneedling?
Microneedling sessions are done every 4 weeks. It is recommended that you do a monthly session for each decade of life. For example, if you are 40 you would do consecutive monthly treatments for 4 months. Once you have completed the initial set of treatments, maintenance Microneedling can be done quarterly or annually, depending on your age, the condition of your skin and lifestyle factors.
How long do Microneedling results last?
A single Microneedling session can last up to 6 months. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to the question of how long the results of treatment will last. Various factors can influence the durability of the outcomes. These include the individual’s skin type, the severity of their skin concern, their lifestyle, and the quality of their post-procedure skincare routine. A series of monthly treatments can last up to 2-4 years.
Who should not get Microneedling?
Microneedling is not recommended for pregnancy, but nano-needling is okay. Microneedling should be avoided during active contagious diseases like shingles or cold sores. Skin disease flare ups, warts, open wounds and acne pustules should be avoided. Patients on coagulant or blood thinning medications should be microneedled with caution. Cancer patients in active treatment and/or radiation treatment of the skin should wait a year before beginning microneedling. Use of Accutane should cease 3 months before starting microneedling. Patients with micro bladed brows, fillers and botox should wait at least 2 weeks before microneedling.
